A Moment that Changed Gaming and Animation for Me

When I was about 7 years old, I played a PlayStation 1 game. It was Toy Story 2 and it was very well animated and really surprised me for how well it was made since it was made in 1999. It was my very first game that I ever played and I really enjoyed it. Once I completed the game, I was opened up to more game possibilities that I enjoyed over the years. Games have gotten better since, but i will never forget the Toy Story 2 game that I still have in my house. After a couple years or so, my cousins had gotten Ipads which I had no idea how to use. Then I found out that they can play games which I could to play on those Ipads with my Aunt and Uncles permission for a while. My first game I played on there was Air Wings which was a fun paper airplane battle game. I then got my own device after a while and discovered all kinds of other games. Sometimes I like to think back and realize that my game life all started with a Toy Story game.

By the time I started playing the game, my life had changed big time. I was on that game for hours when I played it. My parents literally had to make a time limit for how long I could play per day. Once I was kicked outside to get away from the game for a while, i would literally pretend that I was Buzz Lightyear or some type of hero saving people. Of course i’ve grown out of that now, but I still play adventurous games and use my imagination when I play certain games.

Once I started playing other games, I realized that some of them were not as good as the Toy Story 2 game. I saw that a lot of them were just little sprites like Pacman or Mario. It was very interesting to me how games worked now, how they are made, are they easy or hard to make? It definitely affected how I rated games when I played them. I focused a lot on how well they were animated, if they are boring or not, and difference in light and dark shading. I often didn’t like games that had way too much shading for darkness.

In conclusion, Toy Story 2 from Play Station 1 is still one of my favorites because it was well done, and that’s what introduced me to the game world. Since then, I still play fun games that are really good on animation and are not too boring.
